Moving Forward

Navigating Insurance:
Depending on whether you are comfortable accessing mental health resources underneath your parent's insurance the counseling center may defer you to another provider or maintain sessions with you.
--
If the counseling center staff feel that you may benefit from a referral to an outside mental health professional they will provide you with the appropriate referral.
--
If you are not comfortable using your parent's insurance or are not insured in the state of Ohio:
Professional Counseling Center staff will determine whether you would benefit from continuing with the services provided by the Counseling Center. This will have to be determined between the individual student and their Counseling Center therapist.

After-Hours Counseling Support
It’s 2 a.m. You’re feeling stressed, overwhelmed, and anxious. You don’t know where to turn or who to call. The Counseling Center’s after-hours telephone counseling support is available to help.

Call for crisis support at 855-256-7160. This service is available outside of our regular business hours (8:30 am to 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday) and during academic breaks.

All calls are free and confidential for Oberlin students.
