Social Support on Campus

The Yeworkwha Belachew Center for Dialouge

The Yeworkwha Belachew Center for Dialogue at Oberlin College (YBCD) promotes social change through conflict transformation, mediation, community building, and dialogue. The Office of the Ombudsperson coordinates and manages the activities of the center.
Resources Offered: 
  1. Social Justice Mediation - Address a dispute or controversy through a pair of trained mediators to exercise multipartial listening and communication skills while assisting parties in identifying outcomes that are mutually satisfactory
  2. Also offer group facilitation, workshop development, and organizational/departmental visits

​Office of Religious and Spiritual Life

Oberlin College’s Office of Religious and Spiritual Life (ORSL) is a multi-faith resource center that provides and supports diverse religious, spiritual, and ethical programs and activities for the campus and wider community.

We serve the educational, spiritual, and personal needs of a wide array of spiritual orientations, including non-theists. We maintain dynamic partnerships with many campus and local groups, including religious, interfaith, service, and social justice organizations.

Support for international students via advising, community building, programing, visa regulation and immigration paperwork.

After-Hours Counseling Support
​It’s 2 a.m. You’re feeling stressed, overwhelmed, and anxious. You don’t know where to turn or who to call. The Counseling Center’s after-hours telephone counseling support is available to help.

Call for crisis support at 855-256-7160. This service is available outside of our regular business hours (8:30 am to 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday) and during academic breaks. 

All calls are free and confidential for Oberlin students.
